ARCOmadrid, Spain’s prestigious International Contemporary Art Fair, is set to captivate art enthusiasts, collectors, and professionals from around the world. As we eagerly await the 43rd edition, let’s delve into what makes this event a must-attend on the global art calendar.

The Caribbean at the Heart of ARCOmadrid 2024
From March 6 to March 10, 2024, Madrid will come alive with creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange. This year, ARCOmadrid places the Caribbean at its core, celebrating the art scenes of the lands connected by the Caribbean Sea. Curated by Carla Acevedo-Yates and Sara Hermann, the program titled “The shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean” promises to be a visual journey through vibrant cultures, histories, and artistic expressions.

Exploring the Artistic Landscape

1. General Programme
The backbone of ARCOmadrid lies in its General Programme, carefully curated by the Organizing Committee. Galleries and projects from around the world converge here, showcasing contemporary art in all its forms. From established names to emerging talents, the General Programme offers a diverse and dynamic experience.

2. The ‘Opening’ Section
Curated by Cristina Anglada and Yina Jiménez Suriel, the Opening section introduces us to a selection of young galleries. These rising stars bring fresh perspectives, pushing boundaries and challenging conventions. It’s where innovation meets tradition, and where collectors discover the next big thing.

3. ‘Never the Same. Latin American Art’
The historic bond between ARCOmadrid and Latin American art continues to thrive. Curated by José Esparza Chong Cuy and Manuela Moscoso, this section celebrates the richness, diversity, and resilience of Latin American artists. From Mexico to Argentina, the artworks resonate with stories of identity, struggle, and transformation.
